Manifesto

Design is a word.
But is it the right one?
From now on, we are going to use another one.
WE INVENT A NEW WORD FOR DESIGN!

Designers make furniture and jeans.
Seriously?
Products are materialised solutions that have evolved from precise:
observation,
analysis and
conception.
WE THINK.

Design needs critics.
But who?
The capability of the critic taking part in a
competent dialogue is the deciding point.
WE ONLY ACCEPT PRECISE CRITICS.

The client is king.
How does a king have to be treated?
With humbleness if he deserves it.
With the revolution if he deserves it.
WE FIGHT FOR CONCEPTS AND IDEAS.

A designer has to be consequent.
Within a project? Within his lifetime
achievement? For five minutes?
The mind has to be opened until there is
enough room for contradiction.
IT IS THE CONTRADICTION THAT MAKES
US PRODUCTIVE.

Designers have the tendency to exaggerate.
How much is enough?
Exaggeration during the conception phase leads to the
    next level in production.
WE LIKE TO EXAGGERATE.

Designers work with dogmata.
Is the death of the dogmata the birth of moral?
Disturb, destroy, cut, deviate, puzzle.
WE WILL BREAK YOUR RULES IF YOU DON‘T.

Designers commit themselves to arts and crafts for their sustainability.
Is this the right thing to do?
In order to really move something, the biggest mandates possible must be conquered
and treated in the most sustainable way.
ARTS AND CRAFTS, WE LOVE YOU FOR
OTHER REASONS.

Designers work as authors without mandates.
Is this part of a designers life?
Nothing confronts a designer more with
complex limitations than freedom. To start
projects without knowing where to go, why,
and for who is a must.
THE ONLY THING WE ARE AFRAID OF IS
GETTING BORED.

Designers are elitist.
Is there a reason?
Yes.
WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF BEING ELITIST.

There is no such thing as design music.
Can «music» not be replaced by anything that
touches the soul?
Design means not to surrender to society.
WE CONSUME AS CONSCIOUSLY AS
WE CREATE.

Design is not an art.
Is everything in between art?
The answer on the question „What is design?“
is the same as on the question „What is art?“.
WE GRANT THE FOLLOWING RIGHTS TO
DESIGN: TO QUESTION, TO CONFUSE, TO
WAKE UP, TO BE FOCUSSED ON THE PROCESS.
